Eughh school holidays

Then countdown to back to school has now begun! The only benefit of school holidays (unless you are going away) is a) a longer lie in and b) no packed lunches to make. There is absolutley nothing else unless you are a millionaire or one of these inventive types, of which I am neither. Headed off to a play date with DS3s school friends and dropped the other 2 off at squash. Didn't stay long as I had to pick them up again but long enough to be annoyed by Robyn and her flipping munchy thing by proxy that she evidently has.

E went to his mates and I took the other 2 to get some DVDs and a pizza as a treat. Vegged out with Bring it on 5 which was quite good really. Felt a bit woozy though and hoped I wasn't coming down with anything. Did some ironing and mopped bathroom floor, O is constipated and is having real problems, the toilet is a MESS!

L came home and discovered he had messed up his ipod transferring thing and it had copied tracks 2 or 3 times, I am so over ipods!! L and W did the papers which were somewhat soggy after the rain this morning.

Queens Birthday - Public Holiday

Managed to sleep till 7.40am - Bliss.

The weekend has consisted of work on Saturday, okay but one ferral girl casued a complaint from a client. 14 bookings although quiet day for Nikki - she only did one - she's wondering how long she can keep this up. DH got dinner ready with my over the phone instructions and it was a success, yeahhh he can cook nearly 20 years later.

Sunday was a glorious day, about 26 degrees and we pottered in the garden in the morning, planted out some seedlings, moved the trampoline and generally tidied up a bit. DS2 had his soccer presentation which is a load of bull but we had to go along. We were shocked and stunned when he was presented with players player of the year. Gobsmacked or what. We made a hasty escape once the trophies had been presented and headed up to Yanchep in Kluas with DS1 moaning like a stuffed pig all the way. It was absolutley heaving there, never seen it so busy. We headed further into the park and parked the kombi up and had a BBQ next to it. It's great just sitting next to it having coffee and chilling out. Stopped off at the beach on the way home DS1 swore at Dh so he got a bit of a gentle dead arm. Happy families.

More pottering around in the garden today, made chicken loaf for lunch with almost everything from the garden except the chicken! DH took DS 2&3 to the park on their bikes. Chnaged the worm farm trays round in the hope of getting more worm juice.

Work this afternoon, wonder what holiday disasters are in store for us in Emergency!

Sport-a-thon

Today was the annual lap-a-thon at my sons' school. This year we used the sporting theme to jazz things up a bit and the kids were to come dressed in their favourite sporting gear to run the 20 laps of the oval. As a P&C member are we were to be selling pies and sausage rolls to raise much needed dosh for the school. Bit of a disaster really, we had 2 pie warmers which kept blowing the power, time was ticking on and it looked like we'd be serving cold pies. In the end we had to microwave them and keep them warm in one pie warmer at the oval and the other in the canteen. As usual there weren't that many parents turn up to buy our lovely fare so we were left with an excess. I had to leave before the end so not sure who ended up with 75 pies and sausage rolls for tea! There was also a scary moment when a huge swarm of bees congregated behind one of the classrooms and then started to make their way towards us. Luckily something distracted them and they dissapeared. Phew. The rain stayed off and the kids seemed to have fun, we handed out spot prizes to those in their sporting gear and another lap-a-thon was over!

Had work at the hospital after 8 days off, yuk - but it was an okay shift. Kathy my favourite nurse was working in obs so that was nice.

Didn't achieve anything in the house or garden but there is always tomorrow...

The first day of the rest of my life.

I wish I had started a blog ages ago. i did one for the restoration of my kombi (Klaus) but when he was finished then so was the blog. My mum suggested it when I was talking to her on the phone - well she used the word diary as she has no idea what a blog is bless her, she has trouble enough remembering the word computer. She mentioned the diary as she thought it would have been a good idea to use one to record my youngest sons' progress with his language difficulties. Oh well almost 5 years too late but I'm sure I can pick up the pieces.

Since I am a gardening fan, a recycling adict and ever evolving green warrior then I thought I could record my thoughts and disasters with these areas too.

Anyway as usual I am wasting precious time at 7am in the morning when I should be getting things ready for school and the day ahead.
